Updates for the New Year!

Sun Jan 5, 2014, 5:42 PM

Happy 2014 from Seattle!! :iconnatedsaint: and I are still trying to acclimate to life in the city (and the northwest... I totally miss Mrs. Baird's bread), but this is an adventure I am so happy we are undertaking. Thank you all for your patience with my lack of updates. I know it can be frustrating and I am so sorry. Hopefully with the holidays over I can get back into a rhythm and post more. :) (Smile)

Okay... Lets talk work updates. As far as my color work goes, I have a nice long list of prints/pinups/etc for various artists to catch up on as well as doing the cover and interior colors for issue #4 of NeverMinds for :icondrumfishproductions:. The issues is well written (by the wonderful :iconrichbernatovech:) and :iconjamiefayx: is knocking the artwork out of the park. I can't wait to see it finished... you guys are going to love it. :D

On top of all that, I have Sin of Omniscience #2 partially finished. With the move and then the holidays, I had very little time to make much of a dent in the work I need to do. But with the new year... once I get caught up a bit on color work I can start knocking out pages and get the book finished in time for con season.

Speaking of cons... here's a list of 2014 cons that I am looking into attending (which is highly subject to change):
  • FanExpo Vancouver (4/18-4/20/14) - Confirmed!
  • Dallas Comic Con (5/16-5/18/14) - Confirmed!
  • Denver Comic Con (6/13-6/15/14) - Confirmed!
  • Rose City Comic Con (9/20-9/21/14) - Confirmed!
  • Pittsburgh Comicon (9/26-9/28/14) - Confirmed!
  • New York Comic Con (10/9-10/12/14) - Applied.
  • Jet City Comic Show (11/8/14) - Confirmed!

Depending on how some of these applications go I may or may not get in. But as I find out, I'll keep you all posted. And there's always the possibility of adding cons to the list. :)

We applied to Emerald City ComicCon but didn't make it in on time (not surprising giving how late we applied), but Nathan and I plan to go as fans :D So we'll technically be there... but just not in any kind of official capacity.

Alright... I think that catches us up for now. :D

Upcoming Cons

I know I have been kinda absent lately but that's because I have some exciting news that I finally get to share: :iconnatedsaint: and I are moving to Seattle, WA!!

We both have lived in Texas since we were in Middle school (in different parts of Texas... we didn't meet until college in 2002) so this is going to be a BIG change for us. But we are both really excited to be starting a new chapter in our lives. :)
We've got to be there by the end of September, so it's going to be crazy busy for the next few months with packing and moving and getting settled in.

Unfortunately because of this, we will not only have to put the completion of Sin of Omniscience #2 on hold, but we will also no longer be able to attend Pittsburgh Comicon or Wizard World Austin. It's just going to be hectic the next few months and with the time, energy and expense of this relocation we had to prioritize and cut our remaining cons for the year. :(
But on the flip side, Nathan and I are looking forward to being able to add new Comic Con locations to our schedules throughout next year. :)

Once we are settled in and able to get back to work I will post an updated schedule/plan. :D

Just wanted to post an update. Odd19 Studios had a wonderful time at Denver Comic Con. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we are planning to be there next year. So if you couldn't make it out to see us there this year... there's always next year! ;)

We almost sold out of Sin of Omniscience #1 Cover by DAlexisStPierre books there! In fact, we sold the most books there than at any other con!! I was so humbled by the response. Thank you to all who dropped by our table to check out the book. :D

I also got to meet a lot of new creators and am now a huge fan of this book: Check it out!!

The next con I'll be attending is Pittsburgh Comic Con with :iconrichbernatovech: and :iconjamiefayx: in September.
Then hopefully Dallas Fan Days in October (really trying to get into that con since I'm local... I'd love to go to a con where my family and college friends can attend).
My last con for the year is Wizard World Austin in November. I'll be sharing a table with :iconshotgunzen:

First and foremost: Yes--I will be attending Megacon (March 15-17) with my partner in crime :iconnatedsaint: and right next to my good friends :iconrichbernatovech: and :iconjamiefayx:. You can find us all at tables Purple 17/18.

With Megacon debuting my book "Sin of Omniscience", I've decided to jump on the pre-con commission bandwagon. If you were planning to get a commission from me, get on my list now and you can pick up your piece from my table at the show! :)

Spots are limited and the pre-con list will only be open until March 8th.
(Just to reiterate--this journal only pertains to Megacon commissions which are to be picked up at the con. I am not available for any other commissions at the moment.)

My con sketch commissions are drawn on either 11x14 (for full body) or 9x12 (for half body or bust) Bristol Board. Prices are per character. There is minimal background (detailed backgrounds are extra). Color commissions are colored with Copic Markers.

Bust - $10 for Black & White
        $25 for Color

Half Body - $30 for B/W
               $45 for Color

Full Body - $60 for B/W
              $75 for Color

I will be taking sketch commissions during the con as well (again spots are limited and are first come/first serve). The details/prices remain the same.

For pre-con commissions I take PayPal only and do ask for payment up front in order to secure your place on my list.
For commissions requested at the show I will be taking Cash or Credit Card (with my square reader) only.

Pick up:
You can pick up your pre-con sketch commission from my Table at Megacon anytime during show hours.

If you're interested send me a note. :D

Aside from pre-con/con sketch commissions--I will also be selling prints…, original art and issue #1 of Sin of Omniscience Sin of Omniscience #1 Cover by DAlexisStPierre.

First, I want to link the results for the 3rd Annual Drumfish Art Contest:
Congratulations to the winners and a big "Thank You!!" to everyone who participated. There were so many great entries... it really made voting hard. :)

Now onto business. I've had several people message me for commissions and I keep having to say the same thing so I am just going to post it here for all to see. From here on out, new commissions are closed indefinitely. That includes coloring, lineart and full illustration work. Sorry. :(  I have a backlog of comic and commission work as well as some personal things that I really need to make priority.

Finally, I want to take a second to thank everyone who has followed, supported, and contacted me through deviantArt. I truly appreciate all the support that this
community has given me. Thanks again for everything you've done and continue to do, and I look forward to sharing more of my work with you all!

I know this is overdue but as soon as I got back I had to jump right into finishing up some work I had to postpone while getting Neverminds #3 finished up. So I've been a bit busy.

New York Comic Con was amazing!!! I loved being back together with :iconrichbernatovech: and :iconjamiefayx:... love those guys! I finally met face to face with a lot of people I know from here (deviantArt) as well as many new fans and creators.

:icondrumfishproductions: did wonderful in sales. We sold out of over 10 prints (two of which were mine: Gambit and Ivy). We also sold out of NeverMinds #2 and #3 (it's debut... and given how awesome it is I'm not surprised ;)) and sold several figurines (I finally got my hands on mine! Now they are set up in my office next to my Harry Potter display). And finally: all three of us did a ton of commissions. Thanks to all the fans and friends that stopped by and supported all 3 of us!!!

Finally, :icondrumfishproductions: is extending it's deadline for the Drumfish Fanart contest to October 31, 2012.
Here are the rules once again for the contest:
1. Create a piece of art featuring any Drumfish Productions character/s. (Sentinels and/or NeverMinds)
2. Use any medium you like. Pencils, inks, paints, etc. Let's see your talent. Go wild!
3. Deadline: October 31st, 2012. Don't wait until the last minute thought! Time goes by quickly and before you know it the deadline will pass!
And here are the prizes:
1ST PLACE WINNER: 1yr. subscription to deviantART AND your choice of all 5 Sentinels Graphic Novels, Neverminds #1, 2 and 3 OR one of Drumfish's new figurines.
2ND PLACE: 3 month subscription to deviantART AND Neverminds #1, 2 and 3
3RD PLACE: Neverminds #1, 2 and 3.

Thanks again to everyone for all the support!!

Hey all... just wanted to let you know that I changed my username from WitchySaint to DAlexisStPierre.

Also I wanted to announce the NY Times project that Jamie and I have been working so hard on these past few weeks.
:iconjamiefayx: was asked (then he asked me since were doing these "Legacy" commissions together) to contribute to the New York Times GLBT & Aliies Network's Gay Pride Celebration.

There will be 10 posters on display for the month of June in the buildings cafeteria. Each poster will show a variety of categories like Entertainers, Trendsetters, Politicians, and Power Duos to name a few. For the first time, comic book characters will be added to the mix.

Each poster will have a list of at least 5 people in each category who has made an impact on the GLBT community. Our board ranges from mainstream to indie comics, a range of the community and all honored for their achievements:

Karma - One of the first openly Lesbian mainstream comicbook characters and for being a mentor/teacher to a new generation.

Phazer - Critically acclaimed Gay indie character praised on how well the character was written and for being an adoptive father/mentor for a group of kids who lost their parents.

Mystique - Iconic Bisexual character in mainstream comics. She is known by many, including people who don't read comics.

Northstar - First openly Gay superhero in mainstream comics.

Batwoman - First openly Lesbian character to have a critically acclaimed on-going series and the first GLBT character to wear an iconic mantle.

These characters were chosen and we were happy to draw/color them. But there's still more. We just finished Shatterstar and Rictor for the Power Duo board (both bisexual men in a gay relationship) and are finishing up Solstice from Teen Titans for the board focusing on Allies to the GLBT community.

You can check out the artwork here:

First and foremost, I am feeling much better. I still have some tenderness but my movement has improved so much. So that has been such a huge relief... especially since my house is 2 stories (I had to camp out downstairs the first night home hehe).

I am back, however because of my time off I am waaaaaayy behind schedule. So I apologize to those of you waiting on me. Please be patient... I am working my way down my to do list. :)

Thank you to everyone for your get well wishes and support! I really appreciated all the love.

No pun intended.

Hey everyone, this is Danielle's Husband. She is currently recovering from having an emergency appendectomy. Fortunately, my paranoia convinced her to get it checked out last night and it was discovered before it could become punctured or rupture.

The surgery went well, and there were no complications, but she is currently recovering from the surgery, which will take a few days (maybe up to a week). In the meantime, she won't be able to respond to requests or work on any of the stuff she's currently agreed to.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but please be patient while she recovers from surgery, and have a great Fourth of July!
I got my first DD today (sort of... it's actually a collab in :iconc-dubbkitari5: gallery-still awesome though)! It's our Freefall and Fairchild collaboration. :D
